President
Elizabeth Gavino is the President and owner of Lewin & Gavino Inc which she founded in 1995.
She has been helping businesses and individuals make sense of insurance for almost three decades. She is most known in the media for her expertise on the complicated topic of Medicare. Her clients rely on her for helping them navigate Medicare, their options, and other holistic retirement planning strategies.
Through her brokerage, she trains brokers and financial planners on the topic of Medicare to help them better serve their clients.
Over the years, she has been involved in her local National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors (NAIFA) chapter, NYC Chapter of Women Life Underwriters, and Financial Planning Association (FPA) of NY where she served as the Sponsorship Chair for the 8th Annual Financial Fitness Workshop co-sponsored with Kiplinger’s Magazine. She served on the FPA-NY Pro Bono Committee helping domestic abuse victim survivors take back their financial power. She’s also presented seminars for the financial planners of FPA-NY on various Medicare topics.
She served as the Vice President of Marketing on the board of the Hudson Chapter of New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners. In 2005, she was awarded a Teal Heart Award. After the Hudson Chapter she was invited to serve on the State Board of NJAWBO.
In 2010, she taught insurance and risk management classes to high school students in NYC through W!SE, a non-profit educational organization promoting financial education and literacy financial education and literacy. She also taught an insurance course for W!SE Financial Literacy Class at the Family Justice Center, a program offering financial education and literacy to survivors of domestic abuse.
Elizabeth believes that the more successful one becomes, the more one should give back to the community. In the past, she was a volunteer for Cancer Care in NYC. As a member of the Hoboken Chapter of Rotary International, she was awarded the Club Service Award for the 2006-2007 year and in 2007 served on the Board as Community Chair. In April of 2010, she was selected by her Rotary District to serve as Team Leader on a four week Group Study Exchange to Northern Argentina. She led four young professionals on this vocational trip to observe not only the local customs but to shadow their respective vocational counterparts on how their industries are practiced there.
In 1997, she was awarded a Club Award for successfully running the New York City Alumni Club of her Alma mater, Dickinson College. For three years she sat on the Board of the Association of Graduates of New York Military Academy, her alma mater, where she served as Treasurer.
In 2013, she graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as a Certified Health Coach. She graduated from the Nutritional Therapy Association in 2017 where she earned her certificate as a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.

When one's health is optimal, the need for expensive insurance goes down. The quality of one’s health affects the financial bottom line.
She’s presented corporate nutrition seminars to various companies including UBS. She provides corporate seminars and individual coaching helping people live their best and balanced lives.
She is the author of Balanced Life, Happy Life and at the invitation of Arianna Huffington, was a contributor to The Huffington Post Healthy Living Section. Currently, she is writing her second book.
She’s a regular subject matter expert for CNBC, CNN, PopSugar, and other publications.
Currently, she resides in San Diego on a yacht with the love of her life and their Yorkie. They are learning how to sail so that they can someday navigate the world.
